Now that it is officially 2012 and my spring wedding is right around the corner, I thought I would share my wedding planning progress up to this point. With most of the details all coming together, I couldn’t be happier with the direction this evolving and enlightening path has taken.
Venue: Hotel Andaluz in downtown Albuquerque
This beautiful historic hotel is the perfect backdrop for our nuptials. We are doing the whole shindig start to finish here so it’s easy and convenient for all guests…and me too!
Theme: “Keys to a happy marriage”
It took me a while to settle on a theme for our wedding. I am already an incredibly indecisive person as it is, so having all decisions pretty much come down to my discretion was a bit nerve-racking. However, I realized that I was constantly drawn to all things simple, classic, and with a vintage flare. So, that’s the direction I headed. In regards to the historic venue and a focus on a vintage/romantic premise, I fell in love with the incorporation of old skeleton keys. Once I settled on these decisions my creative process really took flight!
Bridesmaids dresses: Nordstrom
I knew I wanted cocktail dresses for my maids instead of traditional bridesmaid attire. I found these beautiful and romantic champagne dresses at Nordstrom and they not only look amazing on all of the girls but they can wear this darling dress again to a future event. I mentioned this lovely lace ensemble in a previous blog post here.
Flowers: Whimsical White
I have decided to garnish our wedding event with simple and elegant roses and peonies. My palette is very neutral and soft featuring all white blooms with accents of blush pink and lavender.
My future sister-in-law is the creative and talented force behind our wedding cake. I am so looking forward to the cake tasting and design process! I recently purchased my cake topper (see pic above) that I am so in love with!
